TEHRAN - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will visit Iran to take part in Noruz celebrations in Tehran and Shiraz next Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The travel will take place as Noruz was registered as an international day at the United Nations.
Iran’s ambassador to Dushanbe, Ali Asghar Sherdoust, told the Mehr News Agency that the Tajik foreign and culture ministers, chairman of the academy of sciences, director of the union of writers, and some dignified Tajik researchers and artists will accompany President Rakhman to Iran.
Sherdoust said Noruz celebrations will be held in Tehran on Saturday and in Shiraz on Sunday.
The Tajik president and other foreign officials invited to the Noruz festival will visit the tombs of Saadi and Hafiz - the two great Iranian poets - in Shiraz.
He also said a magnificent festivity has been planned in Takht-e-Jamshid palace with the presence of the Tajik leader and other foreign guests.
The ambassador said his Afghan counterpart in Dushanbe has told him that President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan will also attend the Noruz festival in Iran.
